Day 4.....

In the morning we got our garden in the ground.  WooWhoooo!  We have 8 corn stalks, two tomato plants, 2 basil plants, 2 zucchini plants, and one cucumber plant.  I am so excited for the kids to be able to tend to a garden and grow food!

We went on an unscheduled field trip to the park for lunch!  It was great until we arrived and the sprinklers were on.  BOOO!  We decided to wait it out and eat lunch in another dry area.  Some of the kids decided to eat their lunches on top of the playground equipment.  Well wouldn't you know what happened next.......LOTS OF SCREAMING AND RUNNING!  A few just froze!  And yes, laughing, too!  So we picked up and moved to another dry area and finished up lunch.  The campers were able to go back over to the playground a little while later.  Some of the kids played soccer and before long all the kids were on the hunt for shade.  We headed back to the school to cool off in the computer room.  Our afternoon craft was taught by Maddy!  She taught all of us how to make friendship bracelets.  This was a perfect activity for all the kids!  She had Elijah and Marika as assistants and they did an awesome job, especially with the younger campers!
