There were lots of yawns Tuesday morning! I take that as a good sign, meaning they were tired from the busy day before! Many parents reported their children slept like rocks. Another good sign! We stayed onsite today and started our day with Garden Time. There was an amazing display of team work as we dug up the grass, carried it to the dumpsters, and cleaned up afterwards. Everyone got a turn and we learned that Junior Counselor Dylan is a master at removing grass. Thank you Dylan!
Our craft for the day was Glow Bugs. I LOVE PINTEREST! The campers seemed to really get into decorating and designing their bugs. Anahi and Dylan helped with designing and glitter while Ms. Flores and I helped with eyes and legs. I have a feeling a few of them are going to actually try to fly their bugs since the word "aerodynamic" kept coming up during the making of the wings. Just an FYI...The lid to the bugs can be removed and new glow sticks can be added. Another option, if you have glow in the dark paint, you can paint a strip of paper and place it into the bug instead of glow sticks.
I think everyone's favorite thing to do is water play! Mr. Lopez brought us a little plastic pool and we set up the slip-n-slide. I think Ms. Flores and I had the most fun because we got to squirt the kids with the hose and laugh at them flying across the slip-n-slide. We have some very creative sliders!
The end of the day we had R&R. I think the campers really enjoy the down time and cuddling on their blankets.
