WEEK 3

Day 11

This week we had some new faces join us at camp.  Andrea is our Junior Counselor, she will be with us for weeks 3, 5, and 7 along with her sister, camper, Dani.  Some of our camper friends came back from family vacations while others left for vacations.  Safe travels everyone!
Monday was filled with outside play on the playground, learning how to play foursquare and timed races, both running and hippity-hopping.  We also learned how to make a God's Eye.  Everyone did an awesome job!

Day 12

Tuesday we changed up the schedule and went to the park in the morning BEFORE the sprinklers came on.  The kids entertained themselves by creating awesome obstacle courses and had me time them with my phone timer.  It's amazing to see how creative they can be as well as show compassion and kindness towards those who couldn't quite complete an obstacle.  We have awesome kids!!!  On the other side of the park, there is a good size hill, the kids all took turns rolling down.  There's nothing like soft green summer grass to roll around on.  Tuesday's craft was made out of toilet paper rolls!  Keep recycling and bring them in!  We made the cutest owls!  I think the best part of the day was Group Water Games!  I would be willing to put money on it that the kids would agree.  We played a modified version of Duck, Duck, Goose called DRIP, DRIP, DRENCH!!!!  I'm not sure who had more fun.....Me or the Kids.  If you got tagged, you had to sit in the "Mush Pot" which was the blue pool.  It was hilarious!!

Day 13

Every Wednesday is movie day!  This week was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.  Another very entertaining movie for children and adults, too!  The afternoon was filled with another round of Group Water Games.  This time it was a relay race with extra large wet t-shirts.  Dani, Mady, and Coleton won both race!  They also played a round of Drip, Drip, Drench!  This always brings tons of laughter and the junior counselors seem to get the worst of it.  ;-)

 Day 14

Thursday was filled with another trip to the park.  Mrs O has now officially join our team!  She will be here on Thursdays and Fridays!  YAY!!!  She has lots and lots of artsy-craftsy ideas!  She is the one who actually donated a ton of our supplies!  Thank you Mrs. O!  One of the campers asked if we could do a Show and Tell and I thought that was an awesome idea!  We saw and learned some very interesting details about our campers!  Thank you for sharing with us!  Thursday afternoon was spent learning how to sew!  We made water bottle holders our, what else, water bottles!  They are made out of fleece and turned out spectacularly!  I am so proud of everyone for trying, as well as the older kids helping the younger ones.  We have some huge soccer fans in camp so they were somewhat distracted with the US v Germany game.  In honor of my German Daughter, Jeannette, I had to wear my Germany t-shirt.  I promised sometime last year I would wear it for World Cup when Germany and the US played.  I was boo'd by the campers for my shirt.  ;-)  However, when I returned from my break I was given a very kind round of applause.....and then I was boo'd again.  I love these kids!!

Deutschland!

Sam often takes random naps.

He always asks me if I took a picture of him sleeping, because he knows I will.

Photo Bomb!  We woke him up and he laid down with his blanket and rested after this photo.

Day 15

Field trip day today!!!!!  We are headed downtown to the Utah Arts Festival!

Lunch in the park before we went into the festival.  It was a perfect day.

We got to draw on farm animals throughout the Kids Zone.

There was a tractor made out of duct tape we could color on.
